How Much Will you Get from Stimulus Bill?

President Bush signed the $168 million economic stimulus package into law this week.  Along with tax breaks to businesses that invest in capital equipment and a personal income tax cut for 2008 in the form of a rebate to be mailed to taxpayers this summer, the plan will make it easier to obtain large size mortgages through the FHA.

How much this modest stimulus will impact a $3 trillion dollar economy is open to debate.  A much better use for the money would have been to extend unemployment benefits for its longer term impact on the economy, but I suppose if we all go out and buy ipods, blue jeans, and other consumables the stimulus would have done its job.
